Title I Schools
Title I Schools receive extra funding from the federal government. These funds can be used to:
- identify students having academic difficulties and provide assistance to those students
- purchase additional staff, programs, materials, and/or supplies
- conduct parent and family engagement meetings, events, trainings, and activities.
Families of Title I students have the right to:
- be provided with information about their child's achievement levels
- request and receive information about the qualifications of their child's teachers
- participate in meetings regarding decision-making for your child's education

Title I Budget
For the 2022-2023 school year, Southside's Title budget is: $206,555.02.
Title funds can be used for:
- smaller class sizes
- additional teachers and paraprofessionals
- additional training for school staff
- extra time for instruction (before/after school tutoring)
- parent and family engagement activities
- supplemental teaching materials, programs, and equipment
Southside's Title I funds are used to employ a reading interventionist and math interventionist and assistant. Also, supplemental instructional programs, such as Generation Genius, IXL, and Flocabulary are purchased.
