Principal
Carmen Hayes
Mrs. Carmen Hayes is the Principal at Southside Elementary School. Mrs. Hayes is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, earning her B.S., M.Ed., and Ed.S. there. Licensed in elementary education, Mrs. Hayes spent nine years as a science teacher at Bridgeforth Middle School. She served as an instructional coach for one year. For the last thirteen years, Mrs. Hayes has been principal at SES. When not working, she enjoys road-tripping with her husband and two children and spending most weekends at the baseball park.

Assistant Principal
Daryl Brindley
Daryl Brindley is the Assistant Principal at Southside Elementary School. She earned an Associate's Degree at Martin Methodist College, a Bachelor's Degree at MTSU, and a Masters' in Administration and Supervision from TSU with 30+ hours all in early childhood, elementary education (K-8). Mrs. Brindley spent one year as a county-wide RTI Coordinator, two years as RTI Coordinator at Southside, eight years as the Assistant Principal at Southside. She spent the rest of her career as an elementary teacher. She has worked at Minor Hill, Elkton, Pulaski Elementary School, and Southside Elementary School. She also worked part-time for two years helping observe student teachers at Martin Methodist College. Although things have changed over the years, she still loves education as much today as when she started. When not working, she likes to curl up with a good book, spend time with her adult children, and vacation at the beach.
