Welcome to Giles County Schools!
I am honored and humbled to serve Giles County as director of schools. I have been in education for 28 years and thoroughly enjoy serving the students and employees of the Giles County School System.
I began my educational career in Marshall County in 1994 after graduating from Athens State University with a B. S. in Language Arts. I was blessed with the opportunity to return home in 1998 when I began teaching English and Applied Communication at Richland School. After spending ten years in the classroom, I returned to college at the University of North Alabama to obtain my Master’s Degree in School Counseling and served as high school counselor at Richland School from 2004-2008. I moved into administration in 2008 as an assistant principal at Richland School and completed my Education Specialist degree in administration and supervision in 2009 from Middle Tennessee State University. I returned home to my Alma Mater in January 2012 serving as principal of Minor Hill School where I remained until June 2019. I obtained my doctorate degree in school leadership in August 2018 from East Tennessee State University and was named director of schools in June 2019.
Education is my passion along with the desire to see all of our students reach their full potential and become productive citizens in our society. An individual’s education can never be taken and is the most important possession one can have. We have an awesome team of educators and district employees who strive daily to give our students the best education possible. We want our schools and community to join us to Grow. Connect. Serve. Succeed.
We are Giles County!
