Ms. Amy Bates

Hi, my name is Amy Bates and I am thrilled to be at Elkton this year teaching 5th and 6th grade Math & Science.  I have previously taught in Limestone County, AL for 26 years.  I am married to my high school sweetheart, Daniel, and we live in Athens, AL.  We have two children; Curt is 22 years old and just recently married Reagan and our daughter, Bryleigh is 17 years old and a Senior at West Limestone High School.

My family and I spend lots of time on the river with friends and family.  I am a huge Alabama fan (sorry, Tennessee fans) and my family loves to attend Alabama softball games as much as possible.  I started my own screen-printing and embroidery business last year that keeps me extra busy but I absolutely love it.  I have recently added laser cutting and engraving to my business and am busy looking for projects for that also.

I can't tell you how excited I am to be a part of the Elkton School family - everyone in the school and community have already been so kind to me.  It is going to be a fantastic year and GO ELKS!!!
